Lutheran HealthCare hosted the area’s first perioperative nursing conference, “The Power of Perioperative Nursing…It’s Not Just the OR!,” at the New York Marriott Marquis (in Times Square).
The gathering attracted more than 250 attendees from 44 hospitals in all of the five boroughs as well as other areas of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Headlining the conference was William Duffy, RN, MJ, CNOR, current vice president of nursing for Evanston Hospital and former president of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses.
Participants learned about the best practices, safety and teamwork, and the importance of each and every nurse. Featuring speakers from Tennessee, Florida, Missouri and Illinois and 18 vendors/sponsors, the conference was an overwhelming success.
