The weekender! Here’s what you should do on Saturday and Sunday

Breaking chews: Cafe Grumpy to open in Park Slope!

So what if it’s still cold outside? At least those dark winter days are behind us. Here are The Weekender’s tips on how to make the most of it:

• Ever wonder what it’s like to give up your day job and live the dream? Support these Brooklyn business owners who did.

• If you’ve never seen a mural made out of three miles of black masking tape, here’s your chance! See the work in progress at artist at the Brooklyn Museum.

• The first St. Pat’s parade is Sunday in Park Slope! Marty will be there with green bagels.

• Hungry? Because The Brooklyn Paper has dubbed the borough, “Hog Heaven.” Here is our roundup of the best places to eat everything from snout to tail. If you decide to stay in, why not use Sweet Melissa’s bacon-rich recipe to whip up a delicious Quiche Lorraine?

• If you see Steve DiBrienza, urge him to quit his City Council race. The Brooklyn Paper’s editorial board did.

• Go raise some money for the cash-strapped public library system.

• Donate a pint of blood — and get a pint of beer!

• The Brooklyn Flea will be hopping as always in DUMBO.

• You could still buy Dan Zanes’s new album — if you love God, that is.

• And “Sleeping Beauty” is still running at Puppetworks. Our own Trey Dooley raved about it.

As always, these and other great events are in our exclusive family calendar, our great nightlife calendar, and our matchless events calendar.
