The world premiere of ‘Apian Way’

he Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre presents their fifth annual New York season with a world premiere and the return of an audience and critics’ favorite “Apian Way,” set to Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin and inspired by the social interaction of bees and the mystery of their modern day disappearance.

“Apian Way” will be paired with “Fleur-de-lis,” described by the New York Times as “a beautiful work, full of poetry and surprise.”

The works will be presented at the Lyceum Theater, a former 100-year-old bath house which will be converted to a dance space for this presentation, located at 227 Fourth Avenue between Union and President streets.

Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre to Perform as Part of Brooklyn Bridge Celebration

This year is the 125th anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn will be celebrating it over a period of five days over the Memorial Day weekend.

On May 25, there will be a dance stage in Brooklyn Bridge Park (Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park section in DUMBO, Brooklyn) from 1-4 p.m. where Brooklyn-based dance companies will be showcased. Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre will have the 2:30-2:50 p.m. time slot.
