Downtown
It’s a bird, its a plane — no it’s New York’s Finest. Hats off to our men in blue from the 84th Precinct who came to the rescue yet again. The three super officers responded to a report of man standing on the outer edge of the Manhattan Bridge. Yikes! Anthony Brooks, an 18-year vet on the job, engaged the gentlemen in conversation, but when he caught sight of the other officers, William Cooper and Daniel Sanderberg, he took a hike. The officers managed to grab the distressed man by the waist and pulled him back to safety. They then contacted EMS and the 38-year-old was taken to Bellevue Hospital for observation and treatment. “They saved someone’s life. I’m very proud of them,” Deputy Inspector Mark DiPaolo told Standing O. Heck we’re proud of them too!
