Macs jacked
Thieves struck two separate apartments in a Gold Street building on July 26 — taking off with three MacBooks and a bracelet.
One victim left her apartment at 3 pm, leaving the door unlocked for her dog walker. When she came home two MacBooks, totaling $2,000, were gone.
A second woman told police that she left her apartment between Myrtle Avenue and Johnson Street at 4 pm — possibly without locking the door — and when she returned an hour later her MacBook and a silver bracelet worth $3,000 were gone.
Stolen stereo
A burglar broke into a woman’s home on Wyckoff Street on July 23 and stole $700 worth of items.
The victim told police she returned to her home between Smith and Hoyt streets from work around 10:15 pm and noticed her lock was broken. The thief stole a $500 speaker system and $150 perfume.
Headphone heist
A troublesome trio stole a man’s headphones on the Flatbush Avenue Extension on July 23.
The victim was skateboarding near Cathedral Place at 2:55 pm when he was confronted by three thugs. One of the jerks snatched the $220 headphones off the victim’s neck from behind, police say.
Break-in
Police arrested a man who they say was trying to burglarize a Bergen Street home on July 27.
Officials say the man broke into the home between Court Street and Boerum Place at 4:54 pm by knocking through a basement door. They said he tried to flee by breaking through a third-floor skylight.
After failing to do so, he allegedly broke through the second-floor bathroom window, and hopped onto the roof.
Bedroom burglar
A creepy crook stole a laptop and video games from a woman’s Sands Street home on July 26.
The victim told police she returned to her home near Navy Street at 8 pm only to discover that her bedroom had been ransacked. The thief stole a $1,000 laptop, several video games, and a Nintendo handheld system.
Grab and go
Police arrested a man who they say took a woman’s pocketbook and then assaulted her on the G train on July 28.
The victim told officers she the train was stopped at the Carroll Street station at 6:20 am when the suspect got on and sat next to her. He allegedly snatched the victim’s pocketbook, with $457 inside, and then threatened: “Don’t say anything or I’ll hurt you.”
Cops say the suspect then attempted to grab the woman’s breasts, and when she resisted, smacked her across the face before fleeing at the Hoyt-Schmerhorn station.
Construction crook
A thief stole more than $14,000 worth of equipment from a construction site’s storage facility on Duffield Street on July 19.
The manager of the project between Willoughby and Fulton streets told police that he discovered $14,850 worth of items — including a hydraulic compression tool, numerous drills, saws, blades, and several copper wires — were missing from the site at 3 pm.
Police note that several employees have access to the storage room.
Deadly assault
Cops arrested a man who they say nearly killed a woman on Nevins Street on July 27.
The victim told police she was arguing with the suspect between Livingston Street and Flatbush Avenue at 9:55 am when he struck her in the back of the head with a golf club.
Officers say the suspect then went after her with a knife, leaving huge cuts on both her arms that later required surgery and more than 100 stitches.
