Chain drain
A crook nabbed a chain off a man’s neck on Avenue S on Sept. 8.
The victim told police the thief latched onto the chain around his neck near E. 17th Street at 1:50 p.m., prompting a wrestling match as the owner clutched desperately to his jewelry.
Sadly, the thief’s grip was stronger than the victim’s, and he successfully made off with the ill-gotten bling, cops said.
Apple Picking
Thieves stole a straphanger’s cell phone and other personal items at the Kings Highway subway station on Sept. 3.
The victim told police that he was waiting for the F train near McDonald Avenue at 3 a.m., when one the crooks put him in a chokehold, while the other knocked him out cold with a punch to the face.
The men took his iPhone, $300, credit cards, and ID before fleeing, cops said.
Jewel heist
A burglar snagged $15,000 worth of jewels from a Guider Avenue home on Sept. 3.
The victim told police the prowler snuck into her house near Guider Avenue at 7:30 a.m., taking diamond rings and other valuables, before fleeing.
