Thief takes off with bodega cash register and cigarettes

A goon busted into a Stillwell Avenue bodega on Dec. 14 and stole a cash register containing more than $4,000, said officials.

The store’s owner told police that when he arrived to open the bodega near 81st Street at 2 am he noticed one of the shop’s windows was pushed in. Upon entering the store the man discovered that a thief had made off with a cash register stuffed with $4,500, a blank signed check with the deli’s name, and four cartons of cigarettes, according to a police report.

Police searched the area but didn’t find anyone, officials said.

Knife to meet you

Three louts mugged a teenager at knifepoint on Bay Ridge Avenue on Dec. 19, authorities said.

The teen told police that while walking home between 16th and 17th avenues at 5 pm when three baddies approached and brandished a knife. The miscreants swiped the kid’s cellphone and $250 before fleeing on Bay Ridge Avenue, police said.

Bat baddies

Two villains charged at a man with a bat on 71st Street on Dec. 18, said police.

The man told officials that he was walking home between 13th and 14th avenues at 9:15 pm when the two brutes ran at him, wielding a bat. A struggle ensued before the goons fled the scene, hopped into a nearby car, and sped off toward 15th Avenue, officials said.
