Purloined laptop
A brigand broke into a home near E. 32nd Street and sometime overnight on Oct. 13.
The resident of the house between avenues K and J told police that sometime between midnight and 7:30 am, someone put a chair by a driveway window and opened the window to gain entry into the house. The sneak thief left with a laptop and tablet that were on a kitchen table, according to police.
Left empty-handed
Overnight on Oct. 13 another break-in occurred at a home near E. 31st Street.
Police say a pilferer entered the through a kitchen window and pushed in the screen to enter the house between avenues K and J , but nothing was taken, according to investigators.
Thwarted at window
Another break-in happened at a house on E. 32nd Street.
Cops said the crook stacked four patio chairs near a side window and tried to gain entry of the abode between avenues K and J.
The homeowner told police that preventative stoppers in the windows helped foil the would-be burglar’s attempt and nothing was reported stolen from the property, according to the report.
Thieving quintet
A suspected group of five marauders broke into an E. 31st street home on Oct. 14.
The homeowner told cops that a kitchen window screen at the house, between avenues K and J, was broken into in the early morning hours between 5:30 and 9:10 am, and owners told cops thousands worth of property was stolen. Police, who say as many as five perpetrators were involved, say a pricey bike, three laptops, and a mobile phone were taken.
Rear window job
Another E. 31st Street home was burglarized on Oct. 3.
The home’s owner told cops that someone gained access to his house from a rear window between 3 and 5 am. Police say he heard noise downstairs in the home between avenues K and J and found his kitchen window open. He later discovered that the car keys to his sports utility vehicle and some cash was taken, according to the report.
