Two octogenarians were fleeced in similar circumstances by a pair of thieving women last week.
On July 16, an 81-year-old woman fell victim to a pair of ladies she met at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Adelphi Street. They offered to buy her jewelry for $10,000, but when the grande dame handed over two pendants, a necklace, bracelet and diamond ring at 12:30 pm, she got nothing in return, as the terror twosome sneaked away around the corner.
The following day, an 82-year-old woman was victimized in a more prolonged swindle that began at the corner of Waverly and Greene avenues.
Two women forced the matron into a car at 11 am and demanded her money. The victim gave them $45, but that was not enough to sate the villains, who brought the lady home and stole $1,900 from her.
Next, they took her to her bank, where she was forced to withdraw $1,000 from her bank account. She was dropped several blocks away, at St. James Place and Fulton Street, before the menaces fled.
Take a stab
A reprobate skewered a stranger’s head with an unidentified object during an argument in Fort Greene Park on July 13.
The victim, 31, suffered injuries to his ear and temple at 9:40 am near the corner of Willoughby and Carlton avenues. Paramedics took him to Long Island College Hospital for treatment.
Guard down
Thieves infiltrated a Willoughby Avenue apartment by removing the security gate outside a bedroom window on July 12 and stole the resident’s bicycle.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, was not in her home near the corner of Waverly Avenue from 5 to 10 pm. When she returned, she was agape to see her window wide open, the gate lain across her bed and her two-wheeler gone.
Sub-human
Two thugs mugged a woman at the entrance to the C train at Fulton and S. Portland Avenue on July 12.
The police report said that the crooked pair snatched the 24-year-old woman’s purse at 1 am on the stairwell and got away with a cellphone, ID and a debit card.
Bank bust
A bank robber netted $4,000 by peacefully holding up a Citibank on Myrtle Avenue on July 14.
The culprit slipped a note to the teller at 4 pm in the location between Clinton and Waverly avenue before escaping with four big ones.
Punk out
An angry skateboarding teen was arrested after he wielded his board as a weapon during a dispute with the bus driver at the stop at Park and Washington avenues on July 17.
Police arrested the 16-year-old for breaking a window with his skateboard while he argued with the MTA worker over the bus fare at 6 pm. According to the police report, the teen also shoved the 45-year-old operator to the ground.
Ax not
Thieves stole several guitars from a music store in the Atlantic Terminal Mall on two occasions last week.
Police were called to the Guitar Center, which is on Flatbush Avenue between Hanson Place and Atlantic Avenue, on July 13 and July 16 after employees realized that six electric guitars and two acoustic pieces were missing.
