Wheel bad
Wheel bandits left at least three drivers subway-bound after a string of robberies in Bay Ridge last week — two in one night alone. Here’s what went down:
• Thieves pilfered the wheels and tires off a parked car on 70th street on Aug. 31.
The victim told cops that she had parked her son’s Honda Accord between 11th and 12th avenues at around midnight and returned at 8 am to find the car wheel-less.
• Perps made off with a set of custom rims from a car parked on 71st street on Aug. 31. The victim told cops that she parked her Infiniti between 10th and 11th avenues at around 1:45 am. When she returned the next morning, she found the rims — valued at $3,600 — missing.
• Wheelheads snatched the wheels and tires off a Lexus parked on 84th Street overnight on Sept. 1. The victim told cops that he parked in the driveway between 12th and 13th avenues at around 11:30 pm and returned six hours later to discover the crime.
Wallet-eyed
Thieves lifted a wallet from a Honda SUV on 77th street overnight on Aug. 29.
The victim told cops that she parked between 10th and 11th avenues at around 8 pm and returned 12 hours later to find that her door was unlocked and her wallet — which she had left in the center console — missing.
