This cat burglar is on the prowl

Roped in

A real-deal cat burglar broke into and pilfered a Vanderbilt Avenue restaurant on July 7.

Security cameras show a nimble man descending into the eatery on a rope inserted into the building through the skylight that he broke around 7 am.

Once he was on solid ground in the establishment between Willoughby and Myrtle avenues, the burglar reportedly took $300 and iPod before escaping via the cable to the roof.

Fast and furious

A man shot another man he’d been arguing with outside a fast food restaurant on Myrtle Avenue on July 11.

The victim’s girlfriend told police that her boyfriend and the shooter left the restaurant, near the corner of Carlton Avenue, to continue their verbal dispute at 10:15 pm. While inside the eatery, she heard a salvo of shots ring out on the street. She called her boyfriend on his cell, and he said he’d been hit and was en route to a hospital.

Street-fighting

Two weapon-wielding ladies were injured and arrested in a dust-up on Cambridge Place on July 8. Their donnybrook turned in an armed exchange between Gates and Putnam avenues at 4:30 pm, with each gladiator brandishing an unidentified weapon.

Out at home

An armed man robbed another man at gunpoint outside his front door on South Portland Avenue on July 11.

Seconds after taking a taxi home at 4:40 am — the safe way to travel late at night — the victim was held up on his doorstep, between Hanson Place and Atlantic Avenue, by a man with a pistol.

The 18-year-old victim reported losing $750, an iPod, silver chain, cellphone, watch and assorted credit and banking cards.

Picks up spare

Villains looted a Waverly Avenue apartment on July 11 and the three roommates suspect their less than stellar security protocol did themselves in.

The two men and one women who live together between Park and Myrtle avenues, told police they were not home from 10:20 am until 4:15 pm, at which point the first person home realized the apartment had been burglarized.

It wasn’t hard for the culprit to steal a laptop, a variety of watches and pieces of jewelry because the trio kept its spare set of keys in the mailbox outside, and the hatch to the roof was unlocked as was the door to their apartment.

Auto burg

A hooligan stole a bevy of electronic goodies inside a parked commercial car on Ashland Place on July 12.

The owner told police she left her car from 2 to 4:15 pm between Willoughby Street and DeKalb Avenue. When she returned, she found a thief had broken the passenger-side window.
