A man was held up at gunpoint and then thrown into the truck of a car during a daring high-stakes robbery on Coney Island Avenue, officials said.

Police said that the victim was between Avenues N and O at 3 a.m. on December 3 when two men surprised him and threw him against his own car.

They then put a gun to the victim’s jaw before tossing him into the open trunk, where they beat and pistol-whipped him before swiping his Rolex watch and briefcase.

The briefcase contained $9,000 in cash and $40,000 in checks, the victim told authorities.

The suspects ran off on foot, police said. The victim was rushed to an area hospital where stitches were needed to close the deep cuts he suffered.

Police said that investigators managed to track down one of the two suspects a short time later.

The alleged mugger, identified as 26-year-old Anthony Fonseca, was charged with robbery in the first degree, assault, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful imprisonment, according to a complaint filed at the Kings County prosecutor’s office.

His accomplice was still at large as this paper went to press.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to come forward.
