Mistaken ID
Thieves stole a case of liquor on Aug. 22 from a Fifth Avenue restaurant.
The two hoods entered the eatery, which is between Garfield Place and Carroll Street, at around 8 am and told employees that they were there “to pick up the wine.”
The employees had no reason to think the men were lying, so they handed over the booze, valued at $150, and the men fled in a white car.
Red handed
Criminals broke into a car that had been parked on St. Marks Avenue on Aug. 18 and got away with a red bicycle, fancy sunglasses, $500 and a pair of blue bicycle shoes.
The owner told cops that he had parked the car between Fifth and Sixth avenues at around 10 am.
This is wrong!
A woman recuperating in a room inside New York Methodist Hospital on Sixth Street on Aug. 21 had her bag stolen by a heartless perp.
The victim told cops that she was asleep in her room in the hospital, which is between Seventh and Eighth avenues, at around 1 pm. The thief got away with the woman’s handbag, which held her cellphone, $340, credit cards and a gold ring.
A puzzler
Thieves broke into a home on Prospect Place on Aug. 23 and got away with lots of fancy electronics and a jigsaw puzzle.
The victim told cops that a camcorder, two expensive camera lenses and the puzzle were gone when he returned home on Aug. 23 at around 2 pm.
Union haul
Thieves broke into a home on Union Street on Aug. 21 and got away with electronics and enough small change to add up to some real money.
The owner told cops that the break-in must have occurred around 9 in the morning, when he was not in the apartment, which is between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
In all, he lost an Apple laptop, a fancy digital camera, $50, watches and a bottle of change worth $150.
