Ticket leads to all-out manhunt for fleeing motorist

Police in riot gear converged on Rugby Road Friday after a scooter cop was injured during a break-neck chase with a car in Flatbush, officials said.

Police said that the motorist, who sped away and then injured the officer as he tried to beat an illegal parking summons, was arrested following a several hour search through the back yards of Rugby Road near Glenwood Road.

Officials said that the cops spotted Randolph St. Jean sitting inside a 1998 Acura Integra with Pennsylvania license plates at a bus stop near Avenue H at 9:30 a.m. on July 25.

When the officer tried to give him an illegal parking summons, St. Jean sped off, officials said.

The scooter cop pursued St. Jean to Rugby Road, where, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Kings County District Attorney’s office, St. Jean “struck the officer,” causing him to fall to the ground.

The officer suffered cuts and bruises and was treated at Maimonides Hospital.

St. Jean ran off, but was soon flushed out by cops from the NYPD Emergency Services Unit, officials said.

Police charged St. Jean with assault, menacing, reckless endangerment, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon.
