The Brooklyn
Children’s Museum is offering an exciting slate of free concerts
on their rooftop every Friday.
It seems the whole world is represented in the museum’s lively
"Rooftop Jams" lineup. On July 25, at 6:30 pm, Ogans!
Afro-Brazilian Ensemble (pictured) will take the stage with song
and dance from Bahia, Brazil.
Next up, Brighton Ballet and Folk Dance Company will perform
traditional ballet, folk dance, mime and magic on Aug. 1, at
6:30 pm. On Aug. 8, at 6:30 pm, mambo, Afro-Cuban jazz and Puerto
Rican salsa will be offered by Grupo Clasa Aparte. On Aug. 15
at 7 pm, the musical traditions of the south will be presented
by the brass and drum band, McCullough Sons of Thunder.
And for something completely retro, don’t miss New York Roller
Dance Company’s street jazz and acrobatics on Aug. 22, at 6:30
pm.
The Brooklyn Children’s Museum is at 145 Brooklyn Ave. at
St. Mark’s Avenue in Crown Heights. For more information, call
