The weekend commute is totally F’d.
Shot callers at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority axed weekend F-train service between Kensington’s Church Avenue station all the way down to Coney Island’s Stillwell Avenue hub, and will offer shuttle-bus service along the line as compensation to straphangers.
The interruption, which the state-run agency said will accommodate “structural improvements,” will kick in at 9:45 pm on Friday and end at 5 am on Monday.
Coney Island-bound F riders who disembark at Church Avenue can grab a shuttle bus, which will stop at Ditmas Avenue, 18th Avenue, Avenue I, Bay Parkway, Avenue N, Avenue P, Kings Highway, Avenue U, Avenue X, Neptune Avenue, W. Eighth Street, and Stillwell Avenue — where people-movers will also be stationed to shuttle Kensington-bound commuters along the same route while the subway is out of service.
Queens-bound J-train straphangers will face a their own interruption from 3:30 am Saturday through 10 pm Sunday, when subways will stop running between Broadway Junction and Jamaica Center.
During the interruption, the transportation authority will deploy complimentary buses making all stops along the J line between Broadway Junction and 121st Street in Queens, where riders going further into the distant borough can then hoof it over to the E train at Jamaica-Van Wyck station.
