On Aug. 9, the New York Transit Museum
unveiled "Subway People: Alone in the Crowd," an exhibition
of 40 photographs by David Perlmutter of New Yorkers in transit.

Among the images on display is "The Drummer" (pictured),
about which the artist says, "The songs of the subway take
many forms, from the rumble of the subway to the rhythmic drumming
of a subway performer."

This exhibit will be on display through Dec. 4 in the museum’s
gallery, located at the corner of Boerum Place and Schermerhorn
Street in Brooklyn Heights. Admittance is free with museum admission
of $5 adults, $3 seniors and children, ages 3-17, and free for
children ages 3 and younger. For more information, including
