Turning Point, a leading Southwest Brooklyn multi-service agency, will hold its Annual Benefit Gala, June 16 at The Palm House, at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 1000 Washington Avenue, beginning at 6 p.m. (cocktails and silent auction) followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m. with musical entertainment provided by The Sidewinders, a New York-based jazz band.
The gala’s theme, “Looking Beyond the Horizon,” is intended to celebrate Turning Point’s accomplishments over its 33 years of service to Sunset Park, Red Hook, and to the Greater Brooklyn community while looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
The gala will honor business executive Alan P. Gallo for the leadership, inspiration, and expertise he brings to his role as president of Turning Point’s Board of Directors. Gallo has served on the Board since 1993 and was a tutor in Turning Point’s Educational Center from 1991-1997.
Gallo, senior vice president and CFO, Global Consumer and Small Business Services at American Express Company in New York City, resides in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.
Tax-deductible individual supporter tickets are $200 and may be purchased by calling 718-360-8168. All proceeds benefit Turning Point’s programs for hurting people of Southwest Brooklyn.
