Midnight snack
A thief smashed his way into a Smith Street restaurant on July 22 or 23 and emptied the cash register into his pockets.
The bistro between Degraw and Douglas streets, was burglarized between 11 pm and 9:20 the following morning, when an employee discovovered a pane of glass on the front door has been shattered, allowing the crook to unlock the entrance.
The worker reported that $100 had been taken from the register.
Apple cart
A hoodlum ripped off tens of thousands of dollars in electronics from a Van Brunt business on July 26.
It’s unclear how the burglar sneaked into building, south of Reed Street, but the entrepreneur suspects he came in through the window between 2:30 and 11 am.
Inside the office, the thief uploaded several Mac computers, an iPod, an electric guitar, a Play Station video game system, DJ turntables a Nikon camera, two computer routers and $23.
