Financially−strapped families and individuals have a friend in the Met Council.
The UJA−Federation agency launched its new effort to bring “unparalleled” services and assistance to those in the Jewish community, who have been blighted by the recent recession, with a ceremony at the Kings Bay Y, 3495 Nostrand Avenue.
The program, coordinated with the help of New York’s 10 most prestigious service agencies and Jewish community councils, provides supportive and debt counseling, employment and career−transition services in addition to financial consultation, budget assistance and spiritual care.
