This party wasn’t about schmoozing — it was about snoozing.
The Pajama Party at the Log Cabin bar on Avenue Z on Aug. 2 was all about drinking and dancing in footie pajamas, nightgowns, and kooky costumes. The Sheepshead Bay watering hole — long touted as the borough’s first karaoke bar— switched from singing to dancing for the first of several upcoming theme nights designed to offer a change of pace for the loyal patrons, according to the bartender.
“I want to do something new and different,” said Gina Ilardo, a bartender who affectionately refers to the bar as “LC.” “It’s a funny concept.”
Though many of the patrons were locals, one couple came all the way from Pennsylvania for the party because they said the relaxed, judgment-free atmosphere is worth the drive.
“You don’t feel judged here,” said Kirk Disla, who travels to the bar from the Keystone State about once a month with his wife. “This is what I do every time we come to NY.”
One local said the party was fit for the King.
“It reminds me of the ‘Jungle Room,’ ” said Cary Weiner, an Elvis impersonator from Midwood. “It’s homey.”
But one of the older patrons said he hopes the next theme party makes a bigger splash, with less flannel and more skin.
“I was hoping for a swimsuit party,” said Don Schneman of Sheepshead Bay.
