Veg in! Farm-to-table chain Westville coming to Dumbo

It is a fresh start!

Manhattan farm-to-table eatery chain Westville will open its first Brooklyn outpost in Dumbo later this year.

The restaurant, which is best known for turning brussels sprouts into a comfort food, has four locations scattered throughout the neighboring borough, and will make its entry into Kings County on Washington Street at York Street.

The company is no stranger to the borough, however — its co-owner opened a similarly vegetable-focused joint called Concord Hill in Williamsburg with several Westville alums in late 2014.

Outside of Grimaldi’s and the River Cafe, Dumbo has traditionally punched well below its weight when it comes to dining, but a cornucopia of new eateries are headed to the pricey nabe.

The revamped former Jehovah’s Witnesses buildings now known as Dumbo Heights will reportedly house outlets of Manhattan gastropub Randolph, fancy sandwich joint Untamed Sandwiches, and sushi bar Domodomo, while the gussied up Empire Stores warehouses near Brooklyn Bridge Park will be home to an outlet of Vinegar Hill’s best — and only! — restaurant Vinegar Hill House, alongside a pizzeria from London.

Westville will also have to compete with Larry and the boys at neighboring institution Front Street Pizza, famous for its pinwheels and less famous for an inedible chicken sandwich named for former Brooklyn Paper editor Gersh Kuntzman.
