Scary scuffle
A thug beat down a man and threatened to stab him as he entered his Henry Street apartment on April 13 — but cops caught the bad guy.
The 23-year-old victim said he was in the lobby of the apartment building between Clark and Pineapple streets at around 11:15 pm when the perp swiped his iPod and Blackberry.
The daring victim then attempted to snatch his devices back and got punched in the neck repeatedly for his efforts. During the scuffle, the victim even tried to dial 911 and was beat down further. The thief then threatened, “I’m going to have to pull out my knife!”
Officer Yeh Yuhuei arrested the 22-year-old suspect later that day, though details were not provided.
Shower swipe
A creep entered a State Street apartment while its female occupant was in the shower and stole two Apple computers on April 13.
The woman said that she got in the shower after her housekeeper left the apartment, which is between Nevins Street and Third Avenue, at around 3:50 pm. While bathing, she heard the door slam loudly and rushed to see what had happened. She then noticed that her computers were gone.
One word of caution is essential here: Do not try to operate electrical equipment when you are dripping wet or naked. Or both.
Smokes swiped
A thief stole a computer and a carton of cigs from a Montague Street apartment on April 16.
The tenant told cops that she returned to her crib between Clinton and Henry streets at around 7:20 pm to find that her front door and window had been unlocked and that her goods had been ganked.
Cell swipe
A thief snatched a cellphone right out of a woman’s hand on April 16, but was quickly arrested.
The victim told cops that she was talking on the phone on Jay Street near Johnson Street at around 1 pm when the thief suddenly grabbed her hand. A struggle ensued, and the brute pushed the woman to the ground and took her phone.
Officer Cesar Valerio gave chase and arrested the 18-year-old suspect, though not before the teen tried to escape by jumping over a fence and cutting his hand.
Parole punk
A bloodthirsty crook waltzed into the parole office on Schermerhorn Street and shot his supervising officer in the shoulder on April 15.
The parole officer, who was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, was working at the State Parole Office between Nevins street and Third Avenue at around 7:10 pm when the thug arrived for his scheduled visit. The parolee then fired two shots, with one striking the officer in the shoulder, cops said. The unrepentant thug was promptly collared.
iGrab
A thug swiped an iPhone as the Q train pulled into the DeKalb Station on April 15, but he was apprehended by cops.
The victim told cops that he was on a Manhattan-bound train at around 4:20 pm when the thief struck, grabbing his phone and fleeing to the Coney Island-bound platform.
The victim gave chase and alerted Officer Billy Wong, who slapped the 18-year-old suspect in handcuffs.
Purse pilfer
A brute bashed a woman in the shoulder until she relinquished her purse on Sands Street on April 14, but the attacker was quickly arrested.
The woman said she was near Bridge Street at around 8:15 pm when her 33-year-old attacker approached. The thug then clocked her in the shoulder several times and fled into a Bridge Street apartment.
Officer Thomas Pavic entered the building and busted the brigand, who had taken the bag filled with an iPod, cellphone, and an assortment of credit cards.
Plant pilfer
The thievery bonanza at Planet Fitness on Duffield Street continues.
In the latest incident at the gym between Willoughby and Fulton streets, a physically active victim locked up her jacket and purse on April 13 at 10:30 am. When she returned to her locker two hours later, the lock was gone and so was her stuff.
She lost $35, a cellphone, and an assortment of credit cards and IDs.
It’s the fourth reported crime at the gym, which opened this year.
Menace at Macy’s
Thieves continue to stalk the Macy’s on the Fulton Mall between Bridge and Lawrence streets.
This time, a customer had set down her purse while trying on a coat on April 11 at around 2:50 pm.
When she returned her attention to the bag a mere two minutes later, it was gone, along with two cell phones and an assortment of credit cards.
According to police records, it’s at least the fourth such burglary at the department store.
