Cell swipe
A thief snatched a woman’s cellphone right out of her hand as passengers exited the F train at the Ninth Street stop on April 15.
The victim told cops that she was tinkering with her phone as the train doors opened at around 8 pm. At that moment, the thief sneaked up behind her, took her phone, and took off running.
What a tool
A contractor working on a Fifth Street house brought some of his own tools — but left with his own and those belonging to the homeowner on April 12.
A babysitter working for the ticked client said that she had last seen the contractor loading tools into his van in front of the house between Fifth and Sixth avenues at around 3:30 pm. The victim told cops that the tools he swiped amounted to $12,000.
Pocket slasher
A thief slashed a man’s pocket and stole his wallet while he rode on the R train on April 16.
The victim told cops he got on a Manhattan-bound train in Bay Ridge at around 1 pm. When he disembarked at the Ninth Street stop and headed to the McDonald’s between Fourth and Fifth avenues, he realized that his wallet, containing an assortment of IDs, was missing.
GTAs
Plenty of cars vanished from the confines of the 78th Precinct last week:
• A 2008 Toyota Highlander vanished from 13th Street on April 14. The owner told cops that she had last seen her ride between Sixth and Seventh avenues at 10 pm. When she returned only three hours later, it was gone.
• Yet another bandit struck in the car thief’s heaven on Flatbush Avenue between Empire Boulevard and Grand Army Plaza. This time, the owner of a 1996 Lexus parked her ride on April 12 at around 12:30 pm in front of the Prospect Park Zoo only to return two days later to find it gone.
• A thief stole a GM van from Sackett Street between Third and Fourth avenues. The owner said he parked the truck on April 13 at around 6 am, but it was gone by 12:30 am the next morning.
Bike thief
A thief stole a bicycle from the basement of a Flatbush Avenue apartment.
The owner of the $1,600 ride said that he had last seen his cycle on April 9 at around 8 am. When he returned three days later, he noticed that the lock for the basement was broken and that his bike was gone from the building, which is at Dean Street.
