Box cutters
Two thugs armed with a box cutter slashed a 40-year-old in a vicious Dec. 28 mugging.
The cutters confronted the victim at the corner of Rodney and South Fourth streets at around 2:30 am.
“Give me your money,” one of the perps demanded in Spanish, while the other looked out for possible witnesses.
When the coast was clear, one of the crooks grabbed the victim’s wallet from his pocket and slashed him across the hand. The muggers escaped with the $48 and IDs.
Xmas crooks
A handful of Grinches stole Christmas, heisting valuables from at least three Boerum Street homes. Here are the details:
• A couple of Scrooges forced their way into an apartment between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street while the victim was away for the holiday, snatching two laptops between noon on Christmas eve and 5:45 pm on Dec. 26.
• On Christmas Day, crooks with hearts at least one size too small climbed through a kitchen window to heist a 52-inch TV and a Banana Republic sweater from an apartment between White Street and Bushwick Place while the victim was celebrating the holiday at a party between 4 and 11 pm.
• On Dec. 26, thieves tampered with a lock to get into an apartment between Manhattan and Graham avenues at some point after 4:30 pm and before 11:30 pm, when they jacked a DVD player.
Moregone Avenue
Crooks cleaned out a Morgan Avenue apartment building the day after Christmas, snatching thousands of dollars of electronics from two residences.
The burglars got into the building, which is between Grattan Street and Harrison Place, and snatched a Mac laptop, an iPod Nano, a Sony camera, an external hard drive and a pair of headphones from an apartment between 1 pm and 10:30 pm, cops said.
Between 6 pm and 11:30 pm, the crooks pushed their way through the front door of another apartment and made off with a Mac laptop.
iPod touched
Cops nabbed an 18-year-old suspected of snatching a 26-year-old woman’s iPod Touch on Dec. 28.
The thug yanked the music-player from the victim’s back pocket at around 6:10 pm at the corner of Debevoise and Humboldt streets.
“Give me that f—ing iPhone,” he demanded (incorrectly), before he wrestled the MP3 player away from the victim and fled — but the suspect didn’t get far before police locked him up.
Copper-handed
Cops arrested a thief suspected of attempting to heist $1,500 of copper tubing from a Keap Street construction site on Dec. 28.
A security guard for the construction company nabbed the 24-year-old suspect, who had hopped over a fence to get into the site, which is between Ainslie Street and Union Avenue, at around 9:40 am.
The suspect tried to flee from the site, which had been burglarized by copper crooks just two weeks before, but the guard held him down until police arrived.
Knifepoint!
A blade-wielding bad guy mugged a 25-year-old as she entered her South Eighth Street home on Dec. 26.
The crook confronted the victim at around 12:40 am as she opened the front door of her apartment building, which is between Berry Street and Bedford Avenue, and flashed a knife.
The victim handed over her wallet, bank card, IDs, bus pass, iPhone, and $10, and the thief fled.
