Three cheers to Team Natalie Grace. The dedicated quad — led by John Quaglione, wife Kerry, and their two beautiful daughters, Natalie Grace and Olivia — walked and raised more than 4,000 buckaroos, the most ever for the team in one year. The funds are slated to aid the March of Dimes in its mission to “reduce and hopefully end premature births,” said John, who was invited on the stage during the opening ceremony and acknowledged as one of the teams in the Circle of Champions.
Team Natalie Grace has participated in the walk-a-thon for the past four years and has helped raise more than $10,000 for the charity.

Sparking the light
The Brooklyn Community Foundation announced the inaugural Spark Prize honoring change-makers in the borough’s thriving nonprofit sector. Five organizations will each receive the $100,000 prize this year, after being selected through a competitive application process by a diverse committee of distinguished civic, business, and neighborhood leaders hailing from Brooklyn.
Brooklyn nonprofit organizations with annual operating budgets above $350,000 and a minimum of five years in operation are invited to apply through June 3. Organizations do not need to be previous grantees of Brooklyn Community Foundation to be eligible.
“As Brooklyn’s community foundation, we want to shine the spotlight on outstanding organizations that are building equity and strength in our communities,” said Brooklyn Community Foundation president and chief executive officer Cecilia Clarke. “Just as Brooklyn is home to some of the most creative businesses and brands in the world, it’s also a hotbed for exciting non-profits and social entrepreneurs. We hope that the Spark Prize will be a valuable ‘seal of approval’ for organizations that embody Brooklyn’s ingenuity, strong values, and bold leadership.”
The Spark Prize is presented in partnership with the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
“The spirit of generosity that animates the people of this borough defines us as One Brooklyn,” said Borough President Adams. “I’m proud to partner on this prize that will continue that valuable legacy and showcase our thriving nonprofit sector to the world.”

CoLab-Factory, the borough’s premier co-working and shared office space, is offering graduating college students an opportunity to participate in the 2016 summer co-working scholarship program.
The scholarship is being granted so enterprising students can have a place to build their startups to achieve their dreams.
