Want health care? Sing for it

If you buy a $15 ticket to next Thursday’s concert dedicated to health care reform, you’ll not only “raise awareness” about “greedy insurance companies” that are trying to “take away” the single-payer option, but you’ll also help The Brooklyn Paper’s ad revenue!

Yes, in that ultimate win-win for America and our bottom line, Brooklyn folk/indie group KaiserCartel is bringing more than 10 fellow artists together to raise cash to buy radio, TV and print advertising in support of a single-payer health care plan.

And this won’t just be a boring ol’ evening of sitting around the campfire singing Obamacare versions of “Kumbaya.” There’ll also be an appearance by a live doctor — songwriter Benjamin Cartel’s mom — and other surprise guests.

But the music comes first.

“They’re working on a song about health-care,” promised KaiserCartel’s manager, Patrice Fehlen, though she admitted that the much-anticipated song is still being finalized (try this: “health care reform” rhymes with “heal the deformed”).

“Brooklyn Sings for Health Care Reform” concert at The Bell House [149 Seventh St. between Second and Third avenues in Gowanus, (718) 643-6510], Thursday, Dec. 10, 7:30 pm, $12 advance and $15 at the door. For info, visit thebellhouseny.com or cnhpusa.org.
