The wetter, the better!

The Member Appreciation Sports Day at Aviator Sports and Events Center on Aug. 17 made a splash with the club’s members, who cooled off with water slides, bounce castles, and games that entertained the parents just as much as the kids.

One parent said he was fascinated watching his kids strategically try to win a game where they ran with a bucket of water and passed it to their teammates, trying to keep as much water in the bucket as possible while passing the pail over their heads and under their legs.

“One bucket was filled with water and 25 feet away was another bucket and they had to pass it over and underneath,” said Vincent Chau, who lives in Sheepshead Bay and attended the event with his wife and three children.

Chau said his favorite part of the day was watching his kids have fun.

“My favorite was watching the kids,” said Chau.

One youngster said his favorite water activity was a slide with an extra splash.

“When you get the bottom, there’s a little pool,” said David Klein, who lives in Midwood.

Between water activities, members munched on hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, macaroni salad, and fruit.

“We had a great time,” said Chau.
