A woman fell to her death in Williamsburg early on Friday morning when she tried to climb into the window of her boyfriend’s fourth-story apartment, according to cops and a report.
Hannah Shaw, 29, used the fire escape to climb to the roof of 409 Kent Ave., where she slipped and fell, plunging to the concrete below, police said.
Emergency services found the woman unconscious at 4:40 am, officials reported. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Woodhull Hospital, according to authorities.
Before the tragic tumble, Shaw had been partying with friends at the Lucky Dog bar seven blocks away on Bedford Avenue, officers stated.
Upon arriving at the pad between Broadway and S. Eighth Street, a bleary-eyed Shaw got into an argument with her boyfriend Alex Douglas and he locked her out of his apartment, which is when she decided to ascend the fire escape, the New York Post reported.
Police would not confirm that Shaw was drunk. They said they are awaiting toxicology reports.
Shaw lived three and a half blocks away on S. Fourth Street, according to cops, and worked at Jungle Design NYC, a garden design firm, according to her Facebook page. She is a 2007 graduate of Hampshire College and originally from Maine, the page says.
