Tool raid
A garage band of thieves broke into a 95th Street home on May 8, taking over $5,000 in tools.
The victimized homeowner told police that he left his house between Third and Marine avenues just after 9 pm and returned a half-hour later.
A neighbor later told him that he had seen two cars roll up, and four men bound out of the vehicles, snap the lock to the garage door and remove pricey tools, including a several screw guns, a sawzall and a diamond cutter.
Chain snatch
A thief snagged the chain off a young man’s neck on May 10 after claiming he knew the lad, police said.
The victim told police that he was near the highway overpass at Seventh Avenue and 75th Street at 3:10 pm when the thug approached, claiming, “I know you!”
Before the victim could respond, the thug grabbed his $300 gold chain and ran off with it, cops said.
Laptop looter
A burglar forced his way into an Ovington Avenue home on May 7, taking two laptop computers.
The 38-year-old victim told police that she returned to her apartment between Fifth and Sixth avenues at 5 pm to find the front door open and damaged.
Tired out
A pinching pit crew swiped the tires off a 2010 Nissan Maxima on 73rd Street on May 9.
The 33-year-old motorist said that she had parked her car between Sixth and Seventh avenues at 3 am and returned seven hours later to find her vehicle on cinder blocks.
