‘Wheel’ cool cats prowl Strickland Ave.

One of the road’s cool cats made a smooth swerve onto the realty highway when the Brooklyn Board of Realtors presented a Jaguar showcase as part of its agents day in Mill Basin.

Joe Shavel, manager at the Heritage Jaguar of Freeport, New York, brought the Jaguar XF and XJ to the mixer at El Caribe Country Club, 5945 Strickland Avenue, in an effort to reach out to local real estate agents, whose leases might be set to expire.

Shavel used to run the Jaguar dealership in Brooklyn before it closed.

Car Monarch

Founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922, by two British motorcycle enthusiasts, the SS Jaguar name first appeared on a 2.5 litre saloon in 1935, but made its reputation in the 1950s with a series of elegantly-styled sports cars and luxury saloons.

Based in the United Kingdom, Jaguar Cars holds Royal Warrants from HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Charles. Royal Warrants of Appointment are issued to those who supply goods to a royal court, or certain royal personages.
