Kitty pride

If you still laugh every time someone sends you a Youtube video of a cat riding a Roomba, acting like a person, or dressed in a ridiculous outfit, the First (and Probably Last) Annual New York Film and Video Festival for Humans is probably for you. There will be two editions — a kid-friendly screening in the afternoon, and an adults-only version at night. You can also bring your own videos to show.

The Bard’s tale: “Shakespeare’s Sonnets” looks pretty much how you’d expect Robert Wilson doing Shakespeare to look.

Bizarre Bard

Avant-garde Shakespeare? Yes, it is the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave festival. In “Shakespeare’s Sonnets,” Bertolt Brecht’s Berliner Ensemble will perform 25 sonnets set to music by singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright. And the whole thing is directed by the inimitable Robert Wilson, so expect it to look spectacularly creepy and weird.
