Coney Island—Brighton Beach—Seagate
Cops say a 43-year-old man went ballistic on a motorist passing Cropsey Avenue on Nov. 30 — and was later arrested for it.
The victim was driving along a service road near the Cropsey Avenue exit when the suspect — who was in another car — rolled up to him, demanding he pull over.
When the victim did, the suspect, for no apparent reason, got out of the car, pulled a hammer out of his trunk, and attacked the man’s car, bashing in the taillights.
Purse grab bust
A man who police say robbed a woman on Nov. 16 was nabbed for the W. 33rd Street altercation this week.
The victim told authorities that she was near Surf Avenue at 3:30 pm when the suspect and another man punched her to the ground and ran off with her purse.
Police arrested a Coney Island panhandler who they believe attacked an 84-year-old woman on Surf Avenue on July 27 — after the kind-hearted woman gave him some money.
The victim was between W. 23rd and W. 24th streets at 7 am when the 36-year-old suspect asked for some change.
The woman gave her some coins, but the suspect knocked the elderly woman to the ground when she turned to leave, robbing her of a cellphone and $10.
Investigators from the 60th Precinct caught up with the alleged thief this week, charging her with robbery.
Cops arrested a 19-year-old who they claim stole an assortment of jewelry from a Neptune Avenue home on Nov. 19.
Police took the teen into custody when the victim saw her Figero chain, bracelet and snake charm — which were taken in a burglary — in the suspect’s possession.
Cops are asking the public’s help in their search for Maureen Armour, a 49-year-old Coney Island woman who has been missing since Nov. 28.
Armour, described as a 5-foot-5, 140-pound African-American woman in poor physical and mental health, was last seen at her home on W. 33rd Street at 3 pm.
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at (800) 577-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
