Wishing Egbert Hall a very happy 101st Birthday

101 balloons

Standing O is sending out 101 good wishes to Egbert Hall, who turned 101 years young on Feb. 26.

Our pal Egbert was born in Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, Guyana, in 1914 and immigrated to the U.S. with his wife in 1984.

The very active centenarian resides at the Duncan Genns Senior Citizen Apartment complex in Bushwick and is a member of the Lucille Rose Adult Day Care Center — “My home away from home,” he says.

Egbert enjoys dancing, playing dominos, and interacting with fellow members. Granddaughter Roberta Vigilance added that staff member Veronica Alert pampers her grand-pop and “adores him very much.”

The birthday boy is also a parishioner at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and enjoys attending church groups and bible study.

A die-hard Mets fan, he listens to his favorite baseball team on the radio, but his greatest thrill was when he attended his first game at age 98 at Citi Field and saw the Amazins win.

Standing O wishes Egbert a very happy birthday, and many more.
