Witherspoon helps New Utrecht secure a victory against Canarsie High

New Utrecht bounced back from an overtime loss to Thomas Jefferson by beating Canarsie High School 30–12 on Saturday afternoon. Running back Jalell Brown ran for 193 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries for New Utrecht (5–3). He also added an interception on defense. Quarterback Ryan Witherspoon went 9-of-14 passing for 115 yards and also ran for a score. David Collins chipped in two interceptions. Canarsie is 2–6.

Sheepshead Bay 7

Jevon Moore went 9-of-13 passing for 132 yards and a touchdown to Jameik Davis for Lincoln. (6–2) Davis had eight catches for 85 yards. Jordan Nicholson had three sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown. Sheepshead Bay is 4–4.

Automotive 0

Dupreme Robinson carried the ball five times for 85 yards and two touchdowns and Equan Yunus added two scores and rushed for 75 yards for South Shore (7–1). Robinson also recorded a safety, recovered a fumble, and had two sacks. Darrius Nichols tossed a touchdown pass to Jhamel Cohen. Automotive is 1–7.

Duwan Hyman completed 7-of-10 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns to Albert Lawrence and also added a rushing score for Grady (8–0). Ruben Joseph carried the ball five times for 130 yards and a touchdown. FDR is 5–3.

Nileaj Hills went 4-for-9 passing for 93 yards and a touchdown to Anthony Blake and also rushed for a score for Lafayette (7–1). Jimanie Braddox added a score on the ground. Daniel Martinez ran for the lone touchdown for Madison (5–3).
