Woman arrested for ‘caning’

69th Precinct

Canarsie

Cane crook

Cops say a 25-year-old woman was arrested for beating and robbing a disabled Flatlands Avenue man of his cane on Oct. 20.

The victim was arguing with the woman near E. 81st Street at 12:30 pm when she snatched the cane out of the man’s hand and beat him over the head with it. She then ran off with the cane, only to be arrested by cops from the 69th Precinct a short time later.

Chain snatch bust

Cops arrested an 18-year-old who they say swiped a gold chain from another man on Avenue N on Oct. 9.

The victim was approaching E. 84th Street at 4:15 pm when the thief passed him — then yanked the gold chain off his neck and ran off.

But he didn’t get far: cops caught up with the thief on Oct. 18, charging him with robbery and grand larceny.

Family affair

A 51-year-old Farragut Road man and his 23-year-old son were arrested on Oct. 16 when they were caught threatening each other.

Police were told that the son texted his father at 4:11 pm, claiming that he was going to “f–k him up.”

When the 23-year-old arrived at his father’s apartment on E. 90th Street, the older man charged at his son with a knife in his hand.

Cops from the 69th Precinct charged both men with menacing and harassment.

Cashing out

Detectives arrested a 50-year-old man who they say swiped more than $3,000 in money orders from a Canarsie woman back on July 27.

The would-be thief was arrested this week after he tried to cash one of the now flagged money orders on Rockaway Parkway.

The man said he didn’t take the money orders, but found them in a blank envelope at the Empire State Casino in Yonkers.
