Backdoor bandit

Some punk stole a woman’s jewelry from her Gates Avenue apartment on Dec. 4, police said. The crook broke into her apartment between Downing Street and Grand Avenue sometime between 10:30 pm and midnight and swiped her pearl chains, watches, a men’s gold ring with the initials “RM” on it, and a Kindle fire worth a total of $5,479, according to authorities. The woman said she walked downstairs to find the back door ajar and stuff thrown all over the floor, officials said.

While she was out

A nogoodnik broke into a woman’s Saint James Place apartment on Nov. 5 and stole a bunch of her personal belongings and electronics while she was at work, police said.

The 26-year-old left her apartment near Lafayette Avenue at about 10 am and when she got home from work at about 7:30 pm realized the sneak had stolen her Macbook Pro, camera, social security card, cash, and checkbook worth a total of 5,900, according to authorities. And the victim’s neighbor whose door faces her apartment told police his peephole was covered with toilet paper when he got home at about 6 pm, officials said.

Caught on camera

Cops cuffed a guy for swiping a woman’s packages from her vestibule on Lafayette Avenue sometime overnight on Dec. 3, police said. The woman left several packages outside her apartment between S. Portland Avenue and S. Oxford Street for fedex to pick up at about 10 pm, but when she checked on them at about 5 am the next morning, they were gone and one was opened with some contents missing, according to authorities. Cameras in the building caught the suspect taking the packages and dumping the contents, officials said.

Subway scamp

A villain swiped a woman’s wallet from her lap as she was sitting on a Flatbush Avenue-bound 5 train near Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street on Dec. 5, police said. The 22-year-old woman told police she had hopped on the last car of the train, and when it arrived at Nevins Street at about 1:50 pm, some snake grabbed her wallet with $500 cash, two credit cards, and her social security card inside, according to authorities.

Wallet grabber

A goon swiped a woman’s purse as she was walking home near Classon Avenue on Dec. 7, police said. The 60-year-old woman told police she was heading back from the market near Lafayette Avenue at about 9 am when the baddie came up to her from behind and grabbed her purse from her hand with her medicaid card, cash, social security card, high blood pressure medication, and make up inside worth a total of $280, according to authorities.

Lunch and lawbreaker

Some jerk stole a teen’s laptop he had left in a deli on Lafayette Avenue on Dec. 8, officials said. The 18-year-old told police he was ordering a sandwich from the bodega near Grand Avenue at about 12:30 pm when he set his Dell Precision laptop down on the floor and forgot about it. The teen came back later at 6 pm for his $2,000 laptop but it was gone and the deli employees said they didn’t know where it was, according to authorities.
