It’s a case of misfortune.
Police are hunting for a crook who stole cash out of the register at a Williamsburg Chinese restaurant after threatening to shoot an employee last month.
Surveillance footage cops released on Thursday shows the thief waltzed into the Graham Avenue takeout joint between Boerum Street and Johnson Avenue around 7 pm on June 23, and lingered at the counter before making his way behind it, where he grabbed the worker in a bear hug, cops said.
The brute then told the guy “don’t make me have to shoot,” before swiping $200 from the register, according to a Police Department spokeswoman, who said he never actually brandished a firearm during the incident.
The nogoodnik then fled on foot with the illicit green, authorities said.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–8477. The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.
