Worst loss of the season!

Cyclones 1
Scrappers 12

Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Mahoning Valley

Starter Darin Gorski was roughed up so bad — by his own pitching and by errors — that he didn’t even get out of the fourth inning.

By the end of that frame, the Cyclones were down 8–0 and a true rout was one.

No one looked particularly good in this game, though Ralph Henriquez hit a solo shot in the seventh to break the shutout. He was 2-for-4 on the night.

All in all, not a good way to celebrate the fact that the team had six players named to the All-Star team earlier in the day.

Coupled with the Staten Island Yankees’ victory, the Cyclones’ first-place lead is down to 2-1/2 games.
