Your own hit parade: Brooklyn Music Wide Open

Connection Works presents “Brooklyn Music Wide Open,” an ongoing series of music presentations, workshops, and performances, June 7.

This fifth installation of “Brooklyn Music Wide Open” is a daylong event at the Belarusian Church in downtown Brooklyn and will include music presentations, performances, and a workshop/jam session open to all.

The afternoon session, 2-5 p.m., will engage young people, families, and aspiring musicians in the experience of making music.

The Belarusian Church is at 401 Atlantic Avenue at Bond Street; there is a suggested donation of $5; students 18 and under are admitted free.

The program includes:

· 2 p.m.: Performance and workshop with local student ensembles. This event allows student groups to hear each other perform and to work with members of the Connection Works Ensemble, receiving invaluable feedback from professional musicians.

· 3:30 p.m.: Jam Session hosted by the Connection Works Ensemble with Michel Gentile, Daniel Kelly, and Rob Garcia. All ages and levels are welcome. Bring your instruments.

The June 7 program is presented in conjunction with the Atlantic Avenue ARTWALK. See www.artwalk08.com for information.
