A 13-year-old boy is dead after a horrific shooting in Brooklyn on Thursday night.

Police officers responded to a 911 call at Brooklyn Avenue and St. Marks Avenue, where they found the victim, Troy Gill, with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body.

Paramedics rushed the boy to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.

As of Friday morning, no arrests have been made, and an investigation remains ongoing. Police have not shared a motive for the shooting, nor any suspects in the case.

In a social media post, Council Member Chi Ossé said Gill was a student at M.S. 354, and was on his way home from a basketball game at Barclays Center when he was shot.

“Our office is still looking into the details of this case,” Ossé said.”We extend our condolences to the victim’s family, loved ones, and the MS 354 community today.”

Between Jan. 1 and Feb. 25, there had been 44 murders on the streets of the five boroughs, according to the most recently available NYPD data — marking a notable decline from the 60 killings during the same timeframe last year. One homicide has been reported in the 77th Precinct, where Gill was killed.

Shooting incidents and homicides have also declined in Brooklyn — but, per police data, the borough had seen at least 17 homicides as of Feb. 25, and 35 separate shootings.
