Bensonhurst—Bath Beach
Wallet snatchers
A pair of robbers stole from a man at the corner of Stillwell Avenue and Highlawn Avenue in Bensonhurst on Oct. 4.
The victim told police he was walking around 11:50 p.m. when the robbers approached him and told him to give up his wallet. He told them that there was nothing in his wallet before one of the men pushed him to the ground and took his wallet.
The second man then punched the victim and hit him in the face with a nearby construction tool.
Paramedics transported the 24 year-old victim to Coney Island Hospital to be treated for minor injuries to the face, chest and leg.
Unwarranted beating
A 45 year-old man attacked a 19 year-old victim on Kings Highway on Oct. 6.
According to police, the teen was leaving a bar near the corner of West 8th Street at 2:24 a.m. when the attacker ran at him and began punching him and hitting him on the face with a belt.
The assault caused small cuts to the victim’s face however he refused medical attention at the scene.
Headphone scam
A scammer shortchanged a Target on Bay Parkway on Sept. 27.
A witness told police an unknown man entered the department store around 5:43 p.m. and started to check out a pair of Bose Headphones. While at the register, the man short changed the cashier $1,023.24 and made off with the pricey item.
Car robbery
A 22 year-old man roughed up a teen before stealing his car at the corner of Bay 37th Street and Bath Avenue.
The unknown robber pushed the teen down, hopped in the victim’s car and then drove off in an unknown direction at 1:20 p.m.
The victim was not hurt. The car was valued at $7,500.
Shopping spree
A burglar stole from a department store at the corner of 86th Street and Bay 19th Street on Oct. 4.
Police say the 62 year-old man unlawfully entered the store at 8:25 p.m., took hundreds of dollars worth of clothing, and left the store without paying.
The store had a trespass notice for the man and claims he was aware of the notice.
