The Brooklyn Aviators celebrated their third straight victory on Saturday after rolling over the Cape Cod Bluefins in a 3–1 rout at the Hyannis Youth and Community Center in Massachusetts.

The Aviators scored early, with star forward Jesse Felten sinking in the first goal of the night less than five minutes into the first frame.

Right winger Matt Atsoff would net the Aviators second goal after Bluefin Andrew Hutton snuck a puck past Aviator goaltender Jo St. Pierre, but the stage for the Aviators’ win had already been set.

And everyone seemed to know it: Cape Cod’s attempts to put a puck in the back of the Aviators’ net dropped considerably in the second and third periods, from 17 in the first to six and then nine in the final frame as the Aviators’ defense worked feverishly to slap the puck away from their zone.

A spectacular center-point blast from Aviator KC Timmons secured the victory for Brooklyn during a third period power play.

Brooklyn’s winning streak began on Jan. 15 when they defeated the Danville Dashers and continued on Friday when the Aviators — for the first time — bested the New Jersey Outlaws. Yesterday’s victory was Brooklyn’s first away game win of the year.

The Brooklyn Aviators will return to the Aviator Sports and Events Center [3159 Flatbush Ave. in Floyd Bennett Field in Marine Park, (718) 758-7580] on Jan. 27 to take on the Akwesasne Warriors. Tickets are $12 ($10 for seniors and children under 14) For more info, visit www.BrooklynAviators.com.
