There’s a hex at the Hanger.

The Brooklyn Aviators again failed to win at home on Thursday — this time suffering a miserable 6-5 overtime defeat to the 0-4 Vermont Wild.

As always, Brooklyn’s boys of winter came out strong, with right-winger Anthony Iaquinto netting a goal within the first three minutes of play at Floyd Bennett Field’s Aviator Sports and Events Center, but the Wild evened everything up by the end of the first frame.

What followed was a fight for ice supremacy: the Aviators were one point ahead by the end of the second set, but ended up struggling to keep pace with Vermont when the Wild’s sticks came alive in the third period, netting three goals within the first ten minutes.

Right-winger Casey Mignone evened everything up for the Aviators with three minutes left in regulation play, forcing an overtime bout that Vermont’s madmen went crazy for — slapping in their sixth and final goal 30 seconds into the new frame.

Thursday’s game was the Wild’s first win of the season. It also marked the Aviators third overtime loss — and third defeat at home. The Aviators lost their home opener to the New Jersey Outlaws on Oct. 29, then suffered a 5-4 overtime loss to the Cape Cod Bluefins last Saturday.

The Brooklyn Aviators will be back home to play the Danbury Whalers at Aviator Sports [3159 Flatbush Ave. in Floyd Bennett Field in Marine Park, (718) 758-7580] on Nov. 12 at 7:05 pm. Tickets $12 ($10 for seniors and children under 14). For information visit www.brooklynaviators.com.
