Senior mugging
A scoundrel snatched a senior citizen’s purse on Flatbush Avenue on March 26.
The woman told police that she was walking near Avenue U around 5:40 pm when someone came from behind her and grabbed her purse from underneath her arms. The bandit then fled on foot, getting away with the victim’s passport, her passport forms and photos, and an electronic tablet, according to cops.
Hot wheels
Someone lifted the tires from a car parked on Schenectady Avenue sometime overnight on March 20.
The vehicle’s owner told police that she parked her ride near Glenwood Road around 8 pm, and the next morning discovered all four tires and rims were gone and the car was sitting on bricks.
Got tools?
A nogoodnik broke into a car parked near the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Hubbard Place and stole tools sometime overnight on March 21.
Police said the owner parked his vehicle at 11 pm and returned the next morning to find his passenger-side window shattered. The crook got away with the man’s prized tools, which included a jackhammer, saw, grinder, and screw gun, according to the report.
Phantom debits
Some fraudster stole money from a Nostrand Avenue woman’s bank account on March 11 and 12.
The woman who lives near between Avenues J and K told cops that she has the card, but someone made two withdrawals worth $500 from her bank account, according to the report.
Quick swipe
A marauder swiped $1,500 from a truck parked on Utica Avenue on March 24.
The owner told authorities that the truck was parked near Avenue N just after midnight, and upon returning to his vehicle around 12:30 am he discovered the cash missing, according to cops.
Without pension
A bandit stole a Quentin Road senior’s pension check between March 1 and March 6.
The victim told cops that he found out that some crook intercepted a check he was expecting but never received, and cashed it, according to police. Cops said the man’s pension check was worth $3,700.
