Some of the “parishioners” had four legs and their howls, yelps and chirps could be heard from blocks away as the annual blessing of the animals got underway at St. Rose of Lima Church.
The courtyard of the house of worship at 269 Parkville Avenue was transformed into an outdoor altar as Rev. Luke Trocha led the benediction in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
Brooklyn pet owners brought along their cherished dogs, cats, birds and other furry loved ones for the hailed blessing.
St. Francis is the patron saint of animals.
