Local goodies

DUMBO is Stoop Sale Central as the neighborhood throws its “epic” yard sale with all the usual gently used clothes, toys, and plenty of other knick-knacks under the Manhattan Bridge. And if that’s not enough, after nightfall, the folks from Shag will be selling sex toys before the Floating Kabarette show at Galapagos.

11 am–4 pm. DUMBO Stoop Sale at The Archway [Water Street between Adams Street and Anchorage Place in DUMBO, (718) 237-8700]. For info, visit www.dumbonycorg;

10:30 pm. Shag sale at Galapagos Art Space [16 main St. at Water Street in DUMBO, (718) 222-8500]. Free with $25 admission to Floating Kabarette. For info, visit www.galapagosartspace.com.

Just ‘Lion’ around

Can you feel the love tonight? You’d have to be meaner than Uncle Scar to not want to head to the Bell House’s “Lion King” sing-along, where the 1994 Disney classic will be screened with subtitles (not that you don’t already know the songs by heart). There will also be a costume contest (expect plenty of animal prints!), a trivia competition, and themed drinks (we’ll take a Laughing Hyena). Down a few of those, and you’ll be singing “Hakuna Matata” in no time.

8 pm. “The Lion King Sing-Along” at the Bell House [149 Seventh St. between Second and Third avenues in Gowanus, (718) 643-6510]. Tickets $8. For info, visit www.thebellhouseny.com.

Baby talk

It’s fun to make a baby, but not so much fun after it comes out. But our pals at Babeland are there for you, offering this class for women on how to get back in the groove after you’ve had a baby. Sexuality expert Vanessa Anton will lead a discussion of the challenges to new mothers — but rest assured, you obviously knew how to have sex given that you had a kid, so you’ll be back in the saddle again soon.

7 pm. Postpartum sex class at Babeland [462 Bergen St. between Fifth and Sixth avenues in Park Slope, (718) 638-3820]. Free. For info, visit www.babeland.com.

Coffee stop

Today’s a good day to relax, sip on a coffee, and enjoy Vineapple, Brooklyn Heights’ newest café. Decked out with comfy couches, local art on the walls, a lending library, and books and a chalkboard for kids, the cozy new spot is perfect for just about anybody. And it’s got a selection of goodies, like muffins, bagels, quiche, and whoopie pies. It’s like sitting in your own living room — only tastier, and probably more fun.

7 am-6 pm. Vineapple [71 Pineapple St. between Henry and Hicks streets in Brooklyn Heights, (347)799-1701]. For info, visit www.vineapple.com/.

Night music

Decision time: You could head to the always-excellent Barbes and share a tiny room with the nine-member band, Life in a Blender (watch out for that trombone!) or head to Union Hall for the Michael Jackson sing-along, where the icon’s music videos will be projected above a floor of dancing, MJ-lovin’ maniacs. It’s the ultimate battle of the bands.

10 pm. Life in a Blender at Barbes [ [376 Ninth St. at Sixth Avenue in Park Slope, (718) 965-9177]. For info, visit www.barbesbrooklyn.com; 11 pm. The Michael Jackson Memorial Sing-Along at Union Hall [702 Union St. at Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, (718) 638-4400]. Tickets $8. For info, visit www.unionhallny.com.
