Aural pleasure

The Fort Greene Festival isn’t for another month, but you can get in the spirit when Q-Tip headlines a kick-off party on May 28 at Sanders Studio. The boyish rapper will be joined by Michaela Angela Davis, Danny Simmons, Toure X, AJ Calloway and Rosie Perez, who must be on speed dial whenever there’s something to do with Fort Greene.

9 pm. Q-Tip at Sanders Studio [525 Waverly Pl. between Fulton and Atlantic avenues in Fort Greene, (646) 232-8857]. Tickets $15. For info, visit www.fortgreenefest.com.

Never forget

It’s Memorial Day, which means parades and a concert in Green-Wood Cemetary — and lots of partying. Then head to the “Freaks and Geeks” party at the Bell House, with comics Michael Austin and Jerm Pollet.

Noon-7 pm. Fatty ’Cue [91 S. Sixth Street between Bedford and Berry streets in Williamsburg, (718) 599-3090]. Tickets $40. For info, visit www.fattycue.com; 8 pm. “Freaks and Geeks” at the Bell House [149 Seventh St. between Second and Third avenues in Gowanus, (718) 643-6510]. Tickets $5. Geek love

The Brick is channeling its inner geek — again — with a monthlong Comic Book Theater Festival featuring shows about superheroes, webcomics, adaptations of comic books, cartoonists, and, of course, Broadway’s “Spider-Man” debacle. The festival begins with a comic revue performance of snippets from all the plays.

8 pm. Comic Book Theater Festival preview at the Brick [575 Metropolitan Ave. between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street in Williamsburg, (718) 907-6189], June 2-July 1. Tickets $15. For info, visit www.bricktheater.com.

Walk the Ridge

Get a glimpse of Bay Ridge’s oldest sites, including a cemetery where Revolutionary War soldiers are buried and a park that was once the 19th-century estate of the first editor of the original Brooklyn Eagle (no relation to today’s publication), on a great walking tour. The fun begins on Senator Street, a three-block stretch that is so gorgeously lined with brownstones that you’d think you were in Park Slope (ooh, fighting words!).

10 am-1:30 pm. Bay Ridge tour [meet at 69th Street near Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge, (718) 745-6827]. Free. RSVP to communitybd10@nyc.rr.com.
