Brooklyn Botanic Garden last week kicked off a unique concert series, Jazz in July, in celebration of its summer exhibition, “Natural Attractions: A Plant-Pollinator Love Story.”

This exhibition aims to inspire a new perspective and appreciation of plants and insects, according to organizers, who hope it will also serve as a call to action for New Yorkers to protect pollinators whose survival aids the reverse of climate change and beautification of our city.

Visitors of Jazz in July, which kicked off on July 11 with the Brownstone JAZZ Ensemble, will enjoy jazz performances from local musicians as well as art tours and interactive workshops. To beat the heat, a pop-up bar will be serving beer, wine, ice cream and snacks.
