The Brooklyn Cyclones didn’t hit the pitch on brooms, but rather with gloves and bats during their July 28 Harry Potter Night game against the Rome Emperors.

Fans, otherwise known as the muggles at Maimonides Park, fled in like they were headed to Potions class with Snape.

“I just love Emma Watson,” one fan remarked, after stumbling around a few of the spells he knew. “Gryffindor has all the key players, the coolest name and coolest colors.”

Another fan equated one Harry Potter character to his support of the Cyclones. “My main man Cedric Diggory, he gave his life for that team,” he said. “[A lot] of loyalty with Hufflepuff right, and I think that’s a characteristic I look for.”

The first 1,500 fans at Maimonides Park received Hogwarts baseball jerseys, which represented each of the four Hogwarts Houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

The Cyclones ultimately fell to the Rome Emperors, ending in a 5-1 score. The Cyclones took an early lead in the third inning, but lost it in the fifth.
